Total sixes in Kings XI Punjab innings were 4 and fours were 15.
When Kolkata came to bat its stared rain when Kolkata were at 79 runs after 9.2 over. They lost just one wicket in the form of McCullum. Kolkata declared as winner on the basis of D/L method.
Kolkata won by 11 runs.
Due to rain the match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians could not start.

The First Match IPL 2020 Live score
The first match of IPL T20 has been played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai super kings. Mumbai Indians bat first. Little master could not perform well in the last IPL T20 cricket in India but this time he score 59 runs on 49. He hit 7 fours in total his 59 runs. He also remained unbeaten till end. That was a good start from little master blaster and a good sign for future 2020 world cup England matches.
AM Nayer played a very good innings of 35 runs in just 14 balls. He hit three sixes and 2 fours. He played superbly well innings. Mumbai Indian could score 165 runs on the loss of 7 wickets in total 20 over.
When Chennai super kinds came for batting they were looking under pressure and lost early two wickets. In the second ball of very fist over malinga took a wicket in the form of Patel. When Chennai was on 17 runs Bravo took the second wicket Raina. Just before that ball Hayden dropped on 8 runs. Both flimtoff and hayden were playing very well but soon Harbhajan took the wickets of flintoff.
He scored 24 runs. Hayden was also got out on 44 balls. Dhoni could only make 36 run on 26 balls. the whole team could only make 146 runs on the loss of 7 wickets in 20 over. The first IPL 2020 match has been won by the Mumbai Indians.
